REVIT #6 : CREATING LINES AND LINE PATTERNS IN REVIT.
- Open your project file, click on "Manage / Additional Settings / Line Patterns".
- Click on "New" to create a new line pattern.
- On the "Line Pattern Properties" interface, type your own line name. "Type" column consists of "Dash", "Space", and "Dot" as a pattern type. Insert the "Dash", and "Space" value to create the line pattern. Remind that you cannot add any value to the "Dot". In this tutorial, I named the line as "BOUNDARY LINE".
- Click OK.
- On the line pattern interface, Click OK.
- To see the line weight that you will apply on the line pattern, click on "Manage / Additional Settings / Line Weights".
- The "Line Weights" interface is divided into 3 sections, "Model Line Weights", "Properties Line Weights", and "Annotation Line Weights". In this tutorial, we are going to look at the "Model Line Weights". There are several adjustable scale in the column, the thickness of the lines is based on the number 1 to 16 at the first column. Note that if you satisfy with the Revit default setting, you don't need to change anything.
- The next step, go to "Manage / Additional Settings / Line Styles" to create your Line.
- On the "Line Styles" interface, click on "New" at the "Modify Subcategories". The "New Subcategory" will appear and type your line name.
- Click OK.
- You will see your new line appear in the "Line Styles" list. Change the "Line Pattern" to your own line. Note that the "Line Patterns", "Line Weights", and "Line Styles" are always connected to each other.
- To create your line in the Model Space, click on "Model Line (or LI)". In this case I am using 3D model line. You can use 2D line or Detail Line.
- On the "Modify | Place Lines", go to "Line Style" and find your line.
- Draw the line on the Model Space, you will see your line with patterns you just created.
- To change the thickness line, go back to the "Line Styles" interface, change the line weight (from number 1 to 16).
- You just created your own line and patterns.
- Thank You!.
